Cooking Tips

Steaming

Steaming is the best way to cook any kind of shellfish including shrimp, Alaskan crab legs, clams, mussels, and lobsters. Put about an inch of water in a pot and bring it to a boil. You can also add in any spices or seasoning to the water for better flavor. Shrimp take about 4-5 minutes while everything else takes about 6-7 minutes.

Baking

Our famous crab cakes take about 25-30 minutes in the oven at about 400 degrees. Pre heat oven before hand and add a sliver of butter on the top of the crab cakes for a golden brown perfection. If crab cake are frozen the may need to go a few extra minutes. Fish can also be baked. Marinade or add spices to perk up the flavor.

Broiling

Broiling fish is usually the preferred way of cooking to get that flaky and slight crispy texture. Again, marinade or spices are recommended.

Pan Searing

Pan searing is one of my favorite ways of cooking scallops or tuna. A hint of blackening season always does the trick.

Deep Frying

Deep-frying or even frying in a skillet with oil is also a favorite. Flour, egg, then breadcrumbs. This can be done to fish, shrimp, scallops, or almost any kind of meat.
